Wobblies Recap

THE WOBBLIES HAVEN'T QUITE PUT IT TOGETHER, BUT AFTER LAST WEEK'S MELTDOWN, RETURN TO THREATENING TO. RIGHT NOW, THEY'RE 'LOITERING WITH INTENT,' BUT AN AMBITIOUS PROSECUTOR MIGHT TRY TO GET A 'MENACING' CHARGE TO STICK... DEFENDING CHAMPIONS NARROWLY ESCAPE DEFEAT, WOBBLIES RETURN HOME TO PRACTICE OMINOUSLY CRACKING THEIR KNUCKLES AND PLAYING FIVE FINGER FILLET.

Rick Dube went back to ruining his manager's efforts to get other pitchers work, Baum Got a Baby Baum Baum cut down a would be base stealer like a regular Rick Dube and hit a Dub-el to boot. Biel keeps on heating up, and the boiling cauldron of rage he is universally known to be threatens to explode, Al, "The Lil' Dutchboy" Vonderharr is learning that yes, he could (and does) crack doubles, he can also just as easily get on first somehow and steal second. Sam Timmerich has gone from warm body to avoid forfeit last summer to legit middle of the order bat and stalwart defensive 3B. 'Fancy' Jared Roddy dances and prances, but also runs the bases and catches balls barehanded in the outfield. Last time one of your players caught a fly ball barehanded? Thought so, Mary Plain and Tall-- you're no match for Jared Short and Fancy.

Skeeters Recap

A hard fought battle between Dube and Gordon ended 6-4 in favor of the good guys.  We were surprised to see most Skeeters with all that pep in their step after most were up late celebrating Corc's 38th birthday the night before.

As always, many memorable moments from the game:

1) Josh Serr yelling from the stands "now's a good time to bunt." Bob heard that, agreed, and laid down a bunt.

2) Jeff's clutch hit in the 8th to score the winning run

3) After intentionally walking Corc to load the bases, Casey stepped to the plate with the bases loaded in the 8th, pointed to the fence in left center and called his shot.

4) Casey played the best Skeeter shortstop of the season.  At one point, he tried to channel his inner Seth by recognizing the Skeeters were uncomfortably lethargic, and wanted to pump them up, so he yelled out "c'mon Bobo" in Seth's voice.  Chaos ensued and we ended up giving up the first two runs of the game shortly thereafter.

5) A car driving behind the field got hit with a foul ball.

6) Nate Serr hit the longest foul ball in Skeeter history.  It landed on the road behind the field and rolled over 600 feet away.

7) Rob made a good throw to second after a picked off runner ran to second.

8) Rob attempted to extend his Skeeter SB lead by stealing 3rd when Phil was on 1st and not telling Phil about it.
