"Inter Urinas et Faeces Nascimur" -- Season Begins With Brown and Gold Failing to Intimidate and Pummel Wobblies As In Years Past.
Have They Finally Learned "How to Stay Calm and to Minimize Risk?" Time Will Tell, but The Wobblies aren't Normally That Competitive So Early in the Season...
∫No, The Wobblies didn't win, but they did score the first run of the 2025 35+ season and got lots of hits against a team not known for giving them out. Did they score a lot? No, but getting hits is a good start. It's how you can score runs.
Aside from Gigstad, pitching was a little rusty, but we showed four very competent arms, including new Wobbly Peter Bodurtha, who was thrown into the game without warming up or having pitched in a game in over a decade and settled down nicely. Obviously the textual approach to the player pool that brought us Jason Partridge is how to get good players/people.
Hitting, we had 6/10 players with multi-hit days and that's without Whiskey Pete shakin' his peg leg on the end of his stump yet.
In the field, pre-teen girls throughout America will be staring into mirrors and shouting "BLOODY RODDY! BLOODY RODDY! BLOODY RODDY!" until he appears.
