Welcome to the home of Bomber Nation!
A safe haven and beacon of light to all players, fans, loved ones, and intrigued citizens, past and present, whose lives have been touched by the TCMABL (that's Twin Cities Men's Adult Baseball League) Bombers, an amateur (we use the term loosely) baseball team.
The Bombers begin 2025 as their 20th season in the TCMABL 18+ division. Founded in 2005 as the Diamondbacks by Joe Masrud, the Bombers are one of the league's oldest continuously operating franchises. The team is currently managed by Alex Gabriel, who enters his 11th year as the Bombers skipper. Our home field is Bob Barnes field at St. Paul Concordia College.
Slow Start to the Year Continues as Bombers Drop 4th in a Row
There were a few positives to take away from Sunday's matchup. Adam Oien continues his strong work in relief, and the Bombers continue to have some good individual offensive performances, notable from Lyons, Gengler, and Flermoen this week, but still the team is struggling to turn baserunners into runs and string rallies together. With a lot of season left to go, and the Bombers typically a late starting squad, there's still hope to start filling up the win column, but the team will take a 1-5 record into a matchup with the Expos back at Goat Hill Park next week, where the story for the Bombers will be health and roster availability.
Not to discount the prior week's Hamm's heroes, enjoy this belated version of last weeks awards against the Cardinals:
Hacker - Frank Nelson - You'll have to ask him if the Hamm's Hacker or Player of the Week Award feels better
Hamm Handed - This one went collectively to the outfield play from last week, with a plethora of textbook route running and fundamentally sound glove work on display
Haphazard Hustler - Kai Goellner - Came in for game 2, left immediately to get ice, and still had the verve to play a solid day at the keystone
Herculean Hurler - Adam Oien - It was a short outing, but with the Bombers trailing by just 2 runs, and an inning where we had a chance to tie it - Adam gave the team another chance to pick up his first win with a quick 1-2-3 inning to close the 7th in game 2
GAMotW - Chris Lyons - I don't think he'd call it his best stuff, but to walk 8 guys and only allow a pair of runs against one of the league's best offenses is a pretty impressive feat. He continues his early season succes at the plate as well, with 2 hits and 2 walks to contribute on the offensive side.
