Jason Kieffer's #34 Jersey 
Officially Retired
 
The Cottage Grove Coyotes on Monday, June 8th, 2009 officially retired the jersey worn by former Coyote Jason Kieffer. Kieffer started his Coyote career in 2005, where he won the prestigious Rookie of the Year award. He picked up many key hits over the years for the Coyotes and was always a threat to go deep at the plate. Sadly, Jason unexpectedly passed away in late August of last year. Not only will he be known as a great ball player with passion for the game; he will be remembered as an overall great person whom many people loved, cared, and respected deeply. Although he has been missed greatly since his passing, he will never be forgotten as he was a positive influence and touched the lives of so many people. His name and number will be forever placed on the Coyotes homepage under the "retired jersey's" section. As a tribute and a way of remembering Jason, the Coyotes will wear a patch on a sleeve of their jerseys bearing Kieffer's number 34.
