
The Black Sox can't stop, won't stop as they dodged a scare from the Piranhas 14-13 to remain the only undefeated team in the entire league. Mike McKee and David Molde with four hits each and Dylon Eisele doubled twice in the win. Jon Radmacher, Dave Neudecker and Cole Lambert with three hits each in the legal assault.
The Grasshoppers keep hoping along with a 9-2 win over the improving Isotopes. Matt Moharter had four hits and Dan Hill went 3-2 with a double and three runs batted in. Hill also picked up the win, going six and striking out five. Jon Lipinski picked up the save. The Hoppers sit one game back from the Sox in the American.
The Lake Monsters shock the Northeast Nine 7-2 and the National Division continues to be a big bowl of gumbo. Erick Hendrickx was sharp in the win getting the complete game and striking out six while only allowing one earned run. Anthony Gross with two hits and two RBIs, Blake Carlson and Reed Richerson each double for the monster mash.
To add to the Gumbo, the Hounds upset Delano Bats to give them their first loss of the season 6-5. PJ Zwach with two doubles and three runs batted in, Trevor Todd also doubled for the dogs. Steve Siquerious picked up the win. Someone homered for Delano Bats in the loss but it wasn’t recorded – so awesome.
The Brewers get back on the winning side of things with a 12-1 victory over the Knights. Emery Hull homered and drove in six runs; Matt Stengel went 3-3 with a double and triple and scored three times. Nate Jackson also doubled. Matt Grill was solid, going seven innings and fanning nine, walking none with zero earned.
Matt Brekke goes six strong and guides the Mariners to a 5-3 win over the Bulldogs. Jeff Farr was the fisherman of the day as he went 3-3 with two doubles, two runs and an RBI. Grant Barthel and Logan Pysick with two hits each in the victory.
The Mets jumped all over the Blue Jays 24-2. Kevin Ferguson and Tony Lazar had two hits each for the Jays in the loss. The Mets haven’t entered their stats but judging from the score I bet some guys got some hits or something.
Wes Robertson pitches a complete game and gives the Dodgers a 11-1 win over the Wobblies. Robertson struck out nine and scattered five hits. Martin Cheatham went 3-4, with a double and two RBIs while scoring twice. Frank Markie also doubled twice. Robertson also helped his cause by doubling and scoring a run. Dodgers overall doubled six times and had eighteen hits in their balanced attack.
Ken Wangler held off a late Voyageur rally for the complete game 7-3 win for the Skeeters. Wangler fanned eight and allowed two earned. Mike Schaefer broke out with a three hit game including a double and two runs batted in. Rob Jones also drove in two for the bugs.
The Grays have won three in a row including Sundays win over the Mavericks 13-3. Jon Widerski continues to wreck havoc this summer homering for the second time this season and going 2-3 with two runs batted in. Steve Cupryna battling back from injury homered and doubled for the Wolves to give the squad a feel good spark. Tom Stephney, Joe Nadolney, Ben Anderson all double in the win, Anderson also stole four bags. Rob Wyse picked up his second win of the season going a complete seven and striking out five and only walking one. Tony Soderlund just picked up by the Mavericks was impressive in his season debut going 2-3 with a double and two RBIs.
The Cubs won 3-0 over the Padres. No stats were entered over the holiday break. Fireworks are pretty fun.
