Welcome to the Mavericks Homepage!

GAME #5  6/22/25

The Mavericks came into this game needing a win, it was hot out and the Mavs' bats followed suit as the boys faced off against the 3-1 Generals. A fun game saw itself tied 4-4, then later 8-8. The 9th inning came around and the cowboys needed a spark and they were able to bring across 5 more for some insurance runs when it counted. Intensity picked up as the Generals loaded the bases in the bottom of the 9th but then Joe Merrild made himself 7' tall to snag a line drive and step on first base for the game ending double play! Dan McGroarty and Coleman Barton had 2 doubles each. This was great team win and it felt good to get off the schneid!

Mavs Player of the Game: Coleman Barton 2-4, 2 2B, 2 RBI, SB

Result: Mavericks 13  Generals 8  (WON  1-4)

GAME #4  6/15/25

The Mavericks and the Wobblies had to scramble to find a dry field to play on and finally decided to play at Stan Cyson.  This rivalry is always fun and this one was no different. The Mavs came in thinking they had a good chance to win but not today. The boys couldn't get anything going and were playing too tight as the Wobblies pitching and fielding was solid and kept the Maericks at bay. Some of these games end with what looks like football scores but it this is probably the lowest scoring game these two ever played. It was still fun but Mavs drop another one. Not the way the boys were looking to start the season, but at some point, they will break through!

Result: Wobblies 5, Mavericks 3 (LOST 0-4)

GAME #3  6/8/25

Well... This one was a klunker. 16 runs should be enough to win a game about 99.27% of the time but when you run out of pitching options half way through the game, it isn't going to end well and this one did not.

Result: dodgers 32, Mavericks 16  (LOST 0-3)

GAME #2  6/1/25

The Mavericks had their work cut out for them as they faced off against the Mudslingers who are always a tough team.  After giving up a ouple of early runs, the cowboys battled back and found themselves  locked in a tie at 4-4 for the last half of the game untll the bottom of the 8th. Muslingers  then sent 3 across and held off the Mavericks in the 9th  for the win. It was a closer game than what a lot of people probably expected.  The Mavs drop their 2nd in a row by a score of 7-4

Result:  Mudslingers 7, Mavericks 4  (LOST 0-2)

GAME #1  5/18/25

Opening day and these two teams picked up where they left off in the season finale of last year. Mavs were in business with 2 on in the first frame until a triple play happened  and stalled the rally. The boys sprinkled in 4 runs and had a 4-0 lead until the 9th when the Knights changed their hitting approach and plated 7 for the win. A positive take away is new guys on the team look pretty solid!  So close... but  yet so far as the Mavs drop the season  opener.

Result: Knights 7, Mavericks 4  (LOST 0-1)
